Titan Platinum Reserve 5.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

Vehicle blend door stopped working for the second time in my 2017 Nissan Titan Platinum Reserve. First time was covered under warranty. This time is a 1200.00 + repair. After some investigating on line, it is found that numerous Nissan owners have this problem which dates back several years. I saw it's the motor, or too much grease in the motor for the blend door. I contacted Nissan about this problem. After 3 weeks (receiving 1 call a week) I was told they will not cover the known defect in their product. Very poor customer service, just terrible.

Funny, just out of warranty, and a possible 1200.00 bill is generated. Makes you think what could be programmed to go wrong to generate revenue ! It would be nice if this could be turned into a recall. Not sure if I need to contact the BBB or the Attorney Generals Office. In this day and age of information, it's a shame Nissan doesn't want to stand behind their product. Mine is a 2017 Titan and I'm soon ready for another truck. Looks like I'll have to take my business elsewhere if this can't be resolved, not to mention the hit on re-sale value with this known defect.

I looked in the owners manual for proper operation and maintenance on these blend doors, but couldn't find anything. Maybe I was pressing the buttons wrong. My Parent's old Cadillac from the 90's still has all of it's blend doors working. Nissan should get a hold of the blueprints for that, apparently their engineers don't have the smarts to figure out how to open & close blend doors in a $60,000.00 Truck. I wouldn't be surprised if this issue runs across the board in their other vehicles. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. It's a shame Nissan doesn't care about their customers. I think I might try to get in touch with Brie Larson and see if her blend doors are working !

Actuator for mixing door on dual zone climate control system failed. This is a well know issue on both 1st and 2nd generation Nissan Titans. Dealer was able to repair under warranty after some back and forth.
