We began the month by not being able to open the hatchback trunk lock with the key fob. We ended the month with the passenger side door lock mechanism COMPLETELY failing us.

The key fob won't open the door; the electrical lock/unlock mechanism on the passenger side arm rest (and the driver's side, too) won't open the door, and trying to open the lock manually doesn't work either.

So, if we want to take more than two passengers in our Versa, one of them has to ride in the front passenger seat which means they have to crawl over the driver's seat and steering wheel, the emergency brake, and transmission shifter.

Not terribly convenient, but hey, you can still put someone in the seat, right!?

Guess what, there isn't a keyed entry on the passenger side. So, what do you do in an emergency?/

Not that these cars are ever involved in an accident, but what happens if someone needs to get out of that seat in a HURRY? Guess you just have to take your chances.

This engineering design is Kaizen (a Japanese business philosophy of continuous improvement of working practices, personal efficiency, etc.) in its highest form and REALLY DOES TIE IN WITH ONE OF THEIR TAG LINES which is. . .

"Shift - The way you move!"

I think they forgot to finish the tag line, and I'd like to offer my take on it. . .

"Shift -- the way we move hundreds of dollars from your bank account to ours!"
