My computer that controls starting and fuel went out. I called customer service to check out the conditions and protocol. I was told the part was out and would take 7 weeks to get another one. After the third week of calling, one part was found in a neighboring state with one number different then my part. I was not offered a vehicle to drive or any consideration.

At 38,000 clicks you would think that your car would start first try. However at low mileage the body control module needed to be replaced. Reconfiguration of the keys needed to be done. Costing me nearly $723.00 (Canadian). The warranty was 3 years or 60,000 clicks. I was three months over the three years but way under in millage. However I did bring it to thier attention before the warrenty expired. The local dealership couldnt find any problem. They indicated it could be bad gas or the colder weather. The next four months I would have trouble starting my car. It didn't happen all the time at first but as time went on it kept getting worst. Then after the warrenty expired they find out the problem????

I called the 1 - 800 customer service number. When talking to the customer service supervisor the first time she was nice and friendly. I explained my situation of how I brought it to thier attention before the warrenty expired. The local dealership had the to bad so sad attitude. By this I mean one person indicated that normally by three years there is 80 to 90 thousand clicks on the car. That normally cars have more than 38,000 clicks on them after three years. She indicated that she would look in to it.

When I followed up a week later she was shocked to hear from me. I tried telling her that I brought it to thier attention before the warrenty ran out but every time she would interupt me and kept saying your over the three years warrenty. She then indicated to me that instead of contacting her I should be contacting the local dealership about this issue. All this after she said that she was going to look into it for me.

In short at 38,000 clicks the body control module went. To me this sounds like it is factory related when the part goes this early. Unknown to me this just one of the many items that have went one my 2007 Nissan Versa. Before 55,000 clicks on my 2007 Nissan Versa I also had the following repairs. - New fuel regulator - the muffler flange - new battery - NEW TRANSMISSION (They replaced this for free however, what transmission goes at around 55, 000. My other car is a Toyota Echo with over 280,000 clicks the transmission is still working)

I have had more repairs on my 2007 Nissan Versa than my 2004 Toyota Echo. To date the Versa only has 83, 000 clicks on it.

I have complained about my intelligent key not starting the car for years. I have gone back to the dealer Many, many, many, many times and they did try something the first time but nothing after that. I have reported this complaint to everyone from the president of Nisson to the attorney general of NY to senators of NY congressmen of NY. I did get a copy of the lemon law and that was it. The dealer told me that I was the only person in America with this problem.

I have a detailed record of the times that my car did not start, I can send you a copy it is too lengthy to send here. I was told that if I changed the battery in my intelligent key and I have at least 4 times in 3 years, don't you think that is a lot?

Versa ES

I make the computers go crazy. Whenever I use any kind of machine with a computer in it I need to wear a grounding strap to redirect the electricity, or the computer breaks. We don't know why this happens...it's weird...I know.

Anyway, I had an old van that had the same problem. They finally took the computer out and when their machine read it, it was programmed for a 4 cylinder Mitsubishi, I instead of a 6 cylinder Dodge van.

My Nissan is having the same problems. Keeps stalling when I put it in reverse, or sometimes when idling or accelerating from a stop, and it's sluggish at all speeds. Basically, it's not getting the right amount of gas because the computer is probably having an identity crisis.

I tried resetting it by disconnecting the negative on the battery for fifteen minutes, then putting it back on. I had to drive it 50 miles or so on the freeway before the idling got better, and it was fine for a week or so, now the idling problem is back and I'm sick of disconnecting the battery.

Aamco had it for two weeks before informing me it was a computer problem (no sh*t), but since they couldn't figure out what the problem was (it broke their reader when they plugged it in), they couldn't fix it. I'm out of options.

Help?
