I purchased a 2007 Nissan Versa. The last week I have had nothing but problems. The first time I took it in was because it would not start. They told me it was a fuel pump. It was replaced. After I got the car back it started to have no power when I pushed on the gas petal. Because of this I was almost hit several times trying to pull out into traffic. The transmission would not shift and the RPM's would be very high. If sounded like the motor was going to blow up. I have taken it into the shop again and now they are claiming that it is a mass air flow sensor. This vehicle is only 2 years old why are these things happening? I have had people slam on their brakes so that they would not hit me even when the gas petal is all the way to the floor trying to make the vehicle move. This is a very serious problem.

Purchased in April 2007, 2007 Nissan Versa with <30K miles has suddenly begun having what appear to be cvt issues. It is an intermittent problem and after having the vehicle in the dealership twice, they are unable to duplicate the problem. When in operation, driver tries to accelerate and although rpms will raise significantly (I.e. 4000), there is no increase in speed, even with the accelerator all the way to the floor. This has occurred in freeway and surface street traffic. They have run all their usual diagnostics, but say there is nothing showing up. The attitude of the dealership service personnel reflects their disbelief that there is a problem. I worked for the company for 18 years, have driven Nissan vehicles for over 20 years, but as a result of this dangerous condition, I am ready to switch loyalty to another brand. I drove the vehicle from new until @ my 18-year-old son has been driving the vehicle since November 2007 with no problems until now. They asked if we had driven other Versas with cvts as if we had suddenly forgotten how to drive the vehicle we've owned and driven for two years. It's not safe in los angeles driving conditions to have this occur.
