Again we are having problems with the vehicle 2008 Nissan Versa SL, IT ONLY HAVE 50, 550 KM. I JUST WENT on the 16-Oct.-2012 TO 417 NISSAN DEALER, IN OTTAWA ABOUT A RECALL SWITCH... that was free. Also about the front brakes. BUT The service Man ad to give me the BAD NEWS.................................................................................. ALSO THE RIGHT SIDE (RHS) CONTROL ARM BALL JOINT is LOOSE, A PRICE OF $405.07. I couldn’t get REPAIR by Nissan 417 because they said it’s not ON THE WARRANTY.... and the price are WAY too HIGH. I still can’t believed it!!! We bought this car thinking that WE will not have any manger problems, BECAUSE WE TAKE GOOD CARE WITH OUR THINGS. Like my 1999 Mazda 626, V6. I
PS: after I mention to the mechanics what I notice that the exhaust pipe is touching the heat shield, we notice that the rear exhaust system is pulling to the right and the bracket that hold the pipe and the muffler pipe to hold very hard to the left making more stress to the weld at the flange + the coregent (rust) it crack with the presser. THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS NOT INSTALLING CORRECTLY. ETHER IT’S ONLY ME OR WHAT I HERD IT HAPPENING TO MORE PEOPLES. I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON PREMATURE BRAKES AND CONTROL ARMS BALL JOINTS AND FUTURE MORE THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. IT WOULDN’T HAVE COST ME WITH 417 NISSAN A TOTAL OF $1055.80 CAD + ALSO THE REPLACEMENT OF THE MUFFLER AND THE HEAT shield BRACKET MORE THEN 400$ Something must be done… Thanks Chris PS: if you need more info please let me know as soon as possible. Because my wife is not happy at all she wants to sell her car. She never taught that she would have problems this soon. Also I was looking to buy a new or two years old car, because my car is now more than 13 years.
NEVER HAVE THIS KIND OF PROBLEMS AT THIS MILEAGE. SO for ANY OF ALL OUR PAST CARS. WE HAVE MENTIONED THIS PROBLEMS THAT SHE HAVING WITH THE CAR. THE CUSTOMERS AND HER STAFF CAN’T BELIEVE AT 50,550KM SHE HAVING THIS KIND OF PROBLEMS. WE ARE HAVING MORE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR THEN MOST CAR THAT WE OWN BEFORE. RIGHT NOW I'M WRITING TO NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVIVE TO COMPLAINT ABOUT ALL THIS DIFECTS THAT WE ARE HAVING WITH THIS LOW MILLAGE 50,550 KM. I FILL THAT ITS A RIPOFF.

I will try and make this as brief as possible. My wife and I bought a 2008 Nissan Versa for her, new, right off the lot at O'Regans in Halifax from Stephen Mavon.
My wife drove the car the majority of the time and was more than pleased with it. We live in rural Nova Scotia and therefore most of the miles on the vehicle are highway miles running to Halifax or Moncton, and we all know highway miles are not hard miles on a vehicle.
The first incident with the vehicle was May 10 2013 when my wife and I returned home from Florida. The Nissan had been parked in our heated garage while we were away. When I put up the garage door to get the Nissan out to go to town the front end of the car was laying about an inch above the garage floor. Broken pieces of the coil springs were on the garage floor. The mechanic who towed the Nissan to his garage said both coil springs were broken.
The end result was that both the struts and the springs had to be replaced. I called the Nissan dealership in Halifax and explained what had happened to our vehicle. I was told they had never heard about anything like this happening to a Nissan, we were not covered by warranty or a recall. The mechanic doing the repairs checked the rest of the front end components and stated they appeared to be fine.
On the afternoon of July 16 2013 my wife was driving the Nissan into Pugwash when the right front wheel literally fell off the car, the ball joint had completely snapped off(at this time there were approximately 102,000 km on the car) There was an RCMP cruiser behind her and the officer witnessed the incident. Luckily she managed to get the vehicle stopped without suffering any injuries to herself, the car, or anyone else on the road at the time.
On Oct. 20 2014, I was driving the car down the road and the driver's front wheel snapped off at the ball joint and I was going on three wheels (at this time there were 116,000 km on the car). More through good luck than good management I managed to stop the vehicle without something more serious happening. The car has been repaired but my wife has not driven it as she does not feel safe anymore driving the vehicle. These failures gave no common warning ie: wearing of tires or a shimmy - the balls simply broke off. We used the same tow truck driver for all these incidents and the same mechanic fixed the vehicle. They will attest to the above if need be.
I am now retired, but during my working years I was an Investigative Traffic Analyst and investigated many serious Motor Vehicle Accidents in the province of Nova Scotia, I am very familiar with cars and how they are supposed to work. I have given evidence in both criminal and civil court regarding some very serious accidents. I have driven a couple of million miles in my life time in various kinds of cars and trucks and have never had or seen front wheels literally just fall off.
My letters and phone calls to Nissan only got me form letters back saying they are not responsible and could not help me.
