Thankfully my wife and I have not been involved in a traffic incident since July 2016 and so have not been subjected to potentially disastrous affects of the airbag discharging metal fragments after excessive exposure to high humidity. For context, we live in new orleans, and I'm relatively sure there are few places more humid than new orleans within the United States. As such, I would classify us as being at a high risk for issues with our airbags. That being said, the passenger side recall took over 18 months to be resolved, all the while, we were told to not have a passenger in the front passenger seat for the duration and were not provided an alternate vehicle to drive. We persevered throughout, but now are being told the driver airbag may also be faulty. I'm not sure what alternate solution they are able to provide at this time but we have certainly not been provided an alternate vehicle to drive in the meantime. We have been told parts are anticipated in late Q1 of 2018, but we certainly won't be holding our breath as the prior part etas fell further and further back as we checked in with the dealership.

Takata recall. I went to Nissan slidell dealership and they replaced passenger side airbag but I was told it was driver side. So I went looking for passenger side. I fond that Nissan covington dealership had this replacement. So I went to covington they in turn tell me it was the passenger side that was replaced. So I had to wait till spring of 2018 for that replacement. I am afraid to drive my car that someone will hit me and the airbag kill me.
