From the time I drove it off the lot, it has been plagued with intermittent rattles. And "intermittent" is the problem. The dealership is over 30 miles away, and I went through months of hassle taking it to them only to come back in the evening and hear that they could not get the rattle to make a sound. Then, on my way home, the stupid thing would rattle loudly, just to taunt me. After about six months they finally heard the most prominent rattle and found a missing bolt which turned out to be the culprit. I did not have the energy or the time to pursue the other ones. Nissan customer service basically directs you back to the dealership to begin the whole grind over again and so they won, I was worn down and gave up. To me, the issue is that you should have the right to expect a brand new car to be relatively rattle free for the first 50,000 miles or so, even a cheapy like mine. I owned a Nissan Sentra with 190,000 prior to this Versa, and it actually had fewer rattles! Did Nissan quality standards drop? Has anyone else experienced this? It is very disappointing because I have rarely gotten to enjoy a brand new car, and now, after buying this headache, I have missed this time as well. I know there are worse problems to have, but dang, this is frustrating.
