problem #1

Jan 302010

Versa S SL 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12 miles

Manufacturer placed the oil drain plug on the back and side of the pan, there is an oil sump in the pan that can not drain because the sump is lower than where the oil drain plug is mounted. Looks like the manufacturer started to mount the drain plug on the side to the transmission where the sump is, but some idiot placed the drain high on the side of the pan. Guess that is why the offer a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty, If you can't change all the oil out of the engine, and leave almost a quart of old oil in the engine, after three years, even with normal oil changes you will have sludge build up in the sump, the lowest part of this poor design oil pan. Contact me by e-mail at hunter_guide@yahoo.com to add your vehicle to a list, so I can push for the recall.

Thanks
