This is a 2010 Nissan Versa. I bought the car brand new. Has 35K miles on it. Already replaced transmission in 2013. Have had numerous tire issues that the mechanics can't seem to figure out, when I take it to the dealer, they want to charge high dollars and the issue still exists. Today while backing straight out of my driveway I heard a huge bang followed by the car not moving forward or backwards. My neighbor came out and informed me that the ball joint on the right front passenger side had snapped. He also indicated that this shouldn't happen to a car from 2010 and with such low mileage. This car has been a nightmare and money pit.

I was making a right turn when I hear a snap and then passenger tire gets popped and deflates. At an intersection going 10 to 15 mph. It turns out my front spring on the passenger side collapsed and has snapped a peice of spring into my tires blowing it. I haven't driven this car for long, and drive quite safely. I since had to purchase new fires and now stuck with my springs still collapsed. Should this incident have happened while driving highway, there would most likely be a case of an accident and risk of injury as the incident happened quite suddenly, luckily I wasn't at high speeds. Also, my front bumper has suffered damage as a result of the extreme height decline from tire and spring incident. First impressions tells me the springs (and muffler) use an alloy that suffers from extreme accelerated corrosion/rust after seeing the muffler and springs. But I'd need to investigate further.

I was driving my 2010 Nissan Versa to work on March 12, 2013 when I heard a grinding sound coming from my front driver side tire area. I wasn't far from work so I drove there and called my mechanic. He picked up my car and found that a coil spring had broke. He told me it needed to be replaced but that he would suggest that I replace the struts and coil springs on both tires. He got the parts in the next day and fixed it all for me. About a week ago I read about a possible defect that is under investigation for coil springs braking and slicing tires on the Nissan Versa's. although in my instance it didn't result in a car crash I feel that it is important for me to let you know that I did have a coil spring brake. I also had called Nissan and had told them about it happening. They told me that it is normal wear and tear on the vehicle. My Versa didn't even have 50,000 miles on it yet but that is normal wear and tear? we have always driven our cars until they had well over 100,000 miles on them and never did even one of them have a coil spring break. If something does come of this defect I would like to get the money back that I spent replacing my struts and coil springs.

I noticed that something was wrong with "feel" of right front wheel so took vehicle in for oil change and tire rotation and asked service to check on that wheel issue. He called me in to see that the right front suspension spring had totally cracked and broken off and had been rubbing on the inside of the tire creating a deep groove in the rubber. It was worn through and close to puncturing and could not even be driven to a dealer. This vehicle has under 37000 miles on it and has been totally maintained and not driven on any poor road surfaces. This was a 15 month old tire with about 14000 miles. Totally destroyed in what was a potentially life threatening situation due to a faulty part. Not normal wear and tear for springs. The mechanic said he sees this spring breakage on a lot of Versas and the Nissan dealer acknowledged that Nissan is "aware" of this problem! these vehicles should be recalled and all suspension springs replaced immediately before there is a fatal accident on the highway. I am afraid to drive knowing the left side could crack at any time. I am also concerned that if only Nissan dealers are reporting the repairs that they do, many repairs by independent mechanics are going unreported to Nissan.

My 2010 Nissan Versa tire rims has major rust on all four rims. I live in Georgia - pretty much warm weather, little to no snow. Where is this rust coming from and is the whole frame rusted out. I am very concern.

My Nissan started leaking air out of the tires....all 4 of them. My son-in-law filled them up to the correct pressure and in a day or two they would be down 4,5, or sometimes 8 lbs. This went on for months until I took it back to the dealership. They said there were no recalls on it. (I asked). They did plug one tire because it had a nail in it, but the other three they said "were just fine". they added pressure to the tires, I paid them and away I went. Two days later when I got in the car, the tire pressure light was on again. Took it back down to my- son-in-law, he looked at it and the pressure was down 6 lbs. In each tire. Went out and bought 4 new tires two days ago. My friend who has a Versa bought new tires, but it didn't solve her (same) problem. Holding my breath and hoping mine will be ok. Why didn't the dealer know of the defect in the tire pressure valve, or were they playing stupid because I was a woman?
