In February, my car started hesitating while going around a bend. Now in July it hesitate when starting out and still when going around a bend or turning corners. I took it to the Nissan dealer and my car is out of warranty. It will cost several thousand dollars to fix. The problem was known when my car was in warranty but I was not notified of such problems. I am now in a dilemma of being out of work with covid-19 and a car that is not working. Is this happening to others.

delayed gear engagement - check engine light - code p0705

My wife and I selected Guaymas MX as our snowbird destination partially because it had a Nissan dealer. 3 months into to my 5 month stay there our 2012 Nissan Versa showed the check engine light. My code reader read P0705. Took it into Nissauto Sonora S.A. De C.V. (Nissan Dealer) and they had no clue on how to repair my CVT. Car has 75000+ miles and transmission is not under warranty. Service supervisor referred to the CVT as "clutch" or automatic??

Columbian mechanic Ricardo who spoke passable English explained the dealer does not have a CVT trained mechanic. He said he would do his best. I had no choice - 7 hours away from the nearest Tucson dealer or walk. He learned as he went and changed a few liters of CVT fluid and then tightened everything up saying that was the best he could do. Car was in 2 days. Cost me 125.00. Check engine light came on again a few days later. Dilemma! My wife and I were forced to get the car fixed immediately but elsewhere.....

We had to cut the holiday short & made an appointment at Jim Click Nissan in Tucson. We limped to Tucson not knowing if the car would break down or not....Cost me out of pocket some 900.00 CAD + expenses. Never mind the cost of other lost accommodations. We were there 2 days. Being 1/4 of the way home - we decided this had been a snowbird spoiler. We headed home to Canada. Thanks Jim Click and staff.

What really irks me is aren't Nissan dealers supposed to know how to repair CVT transmissions - these guys did not have a clue. Evidently MX Nissan dealers do not know how to repair CVT challenges!!!!!!

This cost us a pile of money......will Nissan pony up and reimburse us &/or have the audacity to inform CVT transmission equipped vehicles to not travel to MX?
