The car was purchased new with only 10 miles on the odometer. Under normal city driving there is no noticeable problem. When you are driving at highway speeds at 65mph or above the Versa shifts left or right as if being hit by a wind which is not there. You are constantly having to correct the steering to compensate. The dealership acknowledged the problem but had no fix or resolution from Nissan Corp. A formal complaint was issued to Nissan Corp as recommended by the dealership but after notification back I was informed that this condition is normal for the model Versa. I have requested a repurchase as this situation is definitely a safety problem. This has been my first experience driving my car on a long trip and if this situation is normal I suggest no consumer buy a Nissan. I have owned many cars and I can tell you I will get rid of this car if the situation is not resolved. I have also reported this to the NHTSA and IIHS.

Update from Nov 19, 2015: The Nissan Corporation mechanical engineer Robert Underwood was dispatched to my dealership to meet with me and my wife. The sales manager and the maintenance manager were also in attendance. After two hours of discussion of the problem it was determined that the Versa was operating normal and what we perceived as a problem was normal for all Versas. The explanation was that the car was not designed for Interstate driving and therefore it was normal to shift at 65 and up speeds. The concluded I should have purchased a Sentra and was tried to sell me one with reduced trade in for the Versa which was valued $7000 below what I originally paid and then charging me an additional $7500 at 0 o/o interest for 3 years to switch over to the Sentra. If I had known the Versa was not highway worthy, it would never have been purchased in the first place, of course no one told us that. The mechanical engineer and the sales staff at the dealership all agreed that nothing more could be done. I guess I am stuck.
