Bought the car new, found rust in a dozen different spots underneath after 3 days, Drexel Hill Nissan dealership and Nissan North America would not replace or repurchase the car. They say that the rust is ' not excessive' and not an 'immediate safety issue' and does not affect ' performance at this time ' .
In-spite of telling them that the rust is going to spread and eat away the frame as there is rust on the subframe of the car besides in many other areas, within a span of one or two winters due to salt and snow and then the car would loose its total value, with no resale value - but to that, their answer is - ' not excessive rust'.
Dealership says it is Nissan's fault, Nissan says it will not do anything because it is not affecting performance at this stage.
BBB Autoline did not help and is in bed with the manufacturer and the Attorny Generals office is too backed up so they haven't been able to do anything so far despite submitting scores of pictures, documents and everything.
This dealership and Nissan North America are deliberately and knowingly selling rusted cars to the buyers counting on - who is going to look underneath a brand new car for rust. If after a few months the buyer finds it out, it is too late and then Nissan blames it on the buyers that it must have happened due to buyer's fault, drags the issue and subjects the buyer to so much mental agony that most people would give up.
Please be very very careful when buying from Drexel Hill Nissan in Upper Darby, PA and when buying a Nissan vehicle because Nissan DOES NOT stand behind its products and once the sale is made, they will not support or honor anything.
I am sure there are hundreds or maybe thousands of vehicles that Nissan has sold that are rusted from underneath and the buyers may not even be aware of it. Hope the Govt. does something about this to prevent this robbery.
