Versa Note SV 1.6L

When I try to accelerate from a stop the engine dies. This occurs several times a day, and daily. I have almost had 3 accidents from this problem. I get stranded in intersections, people behind me think I'm going to go, but then my engine dies and they almost rear end me. It's a huge gamble turning left in busy traffic, it's a matter of time until this causes an accident. The car is unreliable.

Nissan says there's no problem and it's "me" not the car. I've been driving for 50 years and many different vehicles. It's not "me". It is the car that has the problem. Car manufactures make up phony reasons for problems they are aware of but don't want to fix. They wait until the warranty is over and then they have no more responsibility to fix the issues. Another example of big business showing a lack of accountability.

engine not getting power

Well at the beginning of the week I had filled up the car at my local gas station(walmart). I go here all the time because it is the lowest in my area. I noticed the other day when i was exiting the gas station the car rev'd up to 2k then dropped almost instantly to 0 almost as if the car was coasting. I slightly panicked and pressed the gas pedal to the floor and the car wouldn't go anywhere then it completely shut off. Luckily the street was empty because I could have gotten rear ended in such a high traffic/speed area. I had to turn off the car. Upon turning the car on it did not power on. I had to the try to start it a second time and then the car was powered on. After it powered on I noticed a strong gas smell...as if the car was running rich. I took it to my local dealer( NissanSouth in Morrow, Georgia) and the looked at the car and of course found nothing. Said that the issue could not be duplicated. Left the dealership pissed off because this is something that could get someone killed. Looked up the issue later that day and saw that I was not the only person who had experienced this issue. Well about 3 days have passed and it has not happened yet. But since it happened once it will happen again...just a matter of time.
