problem #2

Oct 112011

Xterra SE 4 cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 66,000 miles

Shredding the back tires on the freeway was fun to be sure, but nothing like a plastic piece on the FRONT of the car doing the same thing, coming loose on the freeway at 65 mph and having the plastic swing down and scalp the tire to the cords. Since it was the front, the pitching and shimmying was far more pronounced and violent. Good times. This is tire #3 if counting....

problem #1

Jul 302016

Xterra SE 4 cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 102,000 miles

So pissed at this car and Nissan at this point. For the fourth time an exterior piece of plastic has come loose on the car, on the freeway and collided with the tire scalping it to the cords. It was the front left side again, so the pitching and shimmying was more violent than when the rear caps came off. A total of 4 extra tires (no big deal for a car with 100,000+ miles) just the way they failed. 4 alternators, 4 radiator hoses, 4 batteries and countless hours of paid labor. I know I'm late to the party with this, but after the latest tire fail last weekend I had to vent.
