The first of many common, expensive, and necessary repairs we've had with our well maintained 2007 Xterra. Damn this car.
At around 90k miles, the gas gauge stopped working. Turns out there was a recall and the previous owner didn't get the memo. I can't remember the details, but we no longer qualified - would be $500 to fix. I repaired myself for just under $100. It's common enough there are some helpful videos and walkthroughs of the repair online. Was not a fun repair, though.

There was a wide spread defect on this part. I also put this vehicle in the shop in November of 2015 asking them to let me know of any defects or recalls on this vehicle, which they told me that there wasn't any. They lied to me because I just recently found out that there was two wide spread defects and two recalls on this vehicle.
