The issue was not resolvable as the dealer could not find the cause. it was thought to be the fuel cap gasket, and then possibly loss of pressure in the fuel rail, which lead to checking the injectors. None of the above resolved the issue, nor did they come up with any further advice than to trade the vehicle in.
