My front pass door locked and could not be openned until the service dept took the inside door panel off. I asked them what would I do in an accident ? I paid to replace part that failed. Called olds edge hot line and they didn't seem to concerned. After more thought, I paid to have the driver's side replaced. That happened in 1997 but since I'm away from home, I don't have true mileage and dates of occurrences. I feel this is as serious failures as the back seat belts not working NHTSA 00V057000. Imagine yourself in a car in an accident and the door locks. Fortunately, now I know what to do when this happens to me. It's scary the first time it happens. Even the mechanics at olds were puzzled by it. Last month, my driver door started locking, and it locked again yesterday. Since I'm away from home, I haven't got it repaired again. Believe me this is very serious since the number of accidents and my driving is almost 100% expressway driving.
