My 1998 Olds Aurora began losing coolant sometime in March 2009. My car began to overheat on short trips, Mainly when driven up hill( not pushing it ) i recognized coolant temp rising on the climb and my concern turned to disbelief because the car has never been mis-treated.... I examined and changed out the w/p pulley, belt, thermo, A/F which appeared to help the temp stay a little longe at 180-190 on the flat ... but not up hill.... mechanics diagnosis was head gaskets leaking and needed replaced This is a costly and difficult repair to make, I've not had the head gaskets replaced YET but I am still having difficulty, overheating . Try to find out if ANY mechanic out there has swapped gasket on this car without removing the engine. Is there a class action against GM pertaining to this motor issue or can one be initiated?
