I bought this 2001 Aurora used in 2015. The check engine was on and when I questioned previous owner he stated it was a sensor that needed to be replaced. I took it to an independent auto repair shop and it was put on a diagnostic machine and there weren't any failures, alerts or faulty sensors detected. June of 2016 my dash board system stopped working. I can't see my odometer the gas hand doesn't work and it has lost all illumination. I've had fuses checked, replaced etc. In October 2016 my air conditioning unit stopped working. Replaced compressor, to no avail. The heater only blows warm air on the passenger side of vehicle. Occasionally I get a low fuel warning when I'm just idling even though I have a full tank of gas. Have had a low tire pressure warning since I've bought it, and replaced all 4 tires with brand new ones, been to 5 tire shops to see if they can reset sensor. Most my problems seem to be electrical. The dealership cannot or will not give me information. I love my car, and want to keep it. Help please.

They vehicle suddenly and unpredictably turns off. This results in lost power steering, power brakes. The vehicle must be restarted. This occurs while the vehicle is in in motion, transmission in drive. Repair technicians have been unable to identify a cause for the sudden failure. These failures have occurred on multiple occasions. The most recent occurrence.

I am writing to you to detail an issue with the brake system on this vehicle. I have had this issue with no brake pressure or very little for months now and in September of 2014 I took the car to a shop to have the brakes checked. The shop told me the master cylinder needed to be replaced at my cost and I allowed them to replace the master cylinder. When I drove the car home it seemed as if the problem had been corrected. However, I had an appt with my dr. And had no issue getting there. Leaving the appt and onto the freeway home and I noticed again brake pressure had become lacking again. I got off the major freeway and took sidestreet home and as I got even closer to home the same issue had returned. I had almost no brake pressure and by the time I got around the corner from my home the low brake fluid indicator had come on. This had never happened before. There were no leaks of brake fluid from this vehicle before. I would notice such a leak. Taking it back to the shop the next morning the shop foreman indicated to me that it was now the ABS unit which was now leaking brake fluid and that it needed to be replaced at a cost of over $1500. I checked into a recall for this ABS leaking issue and not only called GM but checked my VIN with the database and now I am being advised that this VIN is not in the recall list for the same issue that over 8147 units have had. I do not understand why if this is a known issue with other vehicles same make and model and year why I am now forced to now be without a car since I cannot afford to replace this ABS module at this specific ridiculous cost and I cannot drive the car being the huge safety hazard it is being without proper brakes. I cannot get my car to pass Utah state inspection either which means I cannot license the car for the year. I cant get to work or anywhere else I could kill someone or myself with no brakes.

For the last 4yrs. I have been problem after with this car. Especially with the rack and pinion I have the rack and pinion replaced twice in a two and half year radius. Now today on 7-18-12 I have to get another rack and pinion. Its has to be a defect because it always break during hard left turns or bracket breaks only on passenger side. Their are a lot of electrical malfunctions such as engine light is always on for various reasons ABS light blinks on and off, check oil light, and the check stability system. GM needs to recall this vehicle for all the cost I have to put in this vehicle for rack and pinions is ridiculous. This is goin to be the third rack and pinion since I had the vehicle.

We purchased this vehicle on 9/2007 with 65,327 miles. The 1st year or so, it was ok, except for the emmisions system which they repaired. Over the next years, we have had to replace the brakes, rotors constantly! then the stability control light kept coming on warning of the ABS/traction control problem. Then, my lights starting going out in the car, dash, computer system warning area, and head lights flickering. The car shakes excessively when I try to stop and go over 55 miles an hour on highway to the point I think the front end is going to fall off! in the summer (as now) my gas pedal sticks! I have tried to contact GM about this problem, but they told me although a recall on all the same problems as this car is having was done, my VIN number was not included! it's the same year, model and problems..and still they would not help us. I was told to have a complete diagnostic done on it at my expensive to see what the problems were--seriously GM? I can't tell you how many thousands of dollars I have put into this car already and still cannot afford to get it fixed or have GM own up to these problems. I have researched this car and year extensively and have read nothing but complaints about the same problems and GM not wanting to do anything. I can't afford to fix it, and on limited budget and cannot get a loan for another car due to limited income...so now I am stuck with this car and pray that nothing happens to me while driving on the highway and I will not let my grand chrildren ride in for fear of their lives!..this is a big issue and really does need to be looked into please.I now have 125,000 on it but only drive if I really need to very short distances. I believe whole heartedly that this problem is worth investigating because it is a safety issue whenever driven..please !

My RPM shoots up to red and so I have to turn off car and restart. Often car won't start right away. Then awhile later it just dies on me. Quite a few times it has died on the highway and once I almost got rearended and second time I almost ran into the guard rail on the bridge because I had no power and steering locked up, now my gas gage moves to full then down to low fuel and engine light comes on. Had my car put on machine and couldn't read any codes and couldn't find anything. Scared to drive it because I could possibly be involved in an accident when it dies on me again. But have to drive it meaning its my only transportation.

I bought a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora in 2003 being a single mother of 2 children I wanted a safe car with low repair I was told the 5 star engine is the best and low maintance I paid 15.900 cash for the car on the way home it was acting fun lights flickering gas pedal sticks and you can't push it down, then the gas gauge quit working oil was leaking all over hub in the front of car went bad I took it to the shop and it needed a oil sending unit, fuel sending unit front hub job, after another 1.700 in repairs now I am hold the head gasket is ready to blow and the gage says low oil pressure I had it back to the shop and they say they don't know what is wrong.then I ws rear ended at a stop and go light due to my head lights and tail lights going on and off. My onstar don't work 3/4 of the time due to my gas gauge not working I ran out of gas and then the onstar didn't work either only if the car is running.now it also says defected airbags on the dash. Please get to the bottom of this also there was a chip in the windshild I asked is that a crack in the windshield the salesman said oh no it is not when I got it home it was a crack itn it I called and they told me you drove it off the lot there is no warranty.

Headlights flicker really bad, usually when vehicle isn't at temperature and accelerating. I usually watch my digital voltmeter and my voltage jumps from 12 volts to 15.5 (normal operating voltage is usually 14.8) almost instantly back and forth. I drove it on its first long distance run of about 80 miles and after my lights flickered for about 3 minutes the check engine light popped on. I just bought this car a month ago and while I was reading the maintenance log the alternator has just been replaced.

We purchased a used 2001 olds Aurora in March 2003. We also purchased the extended warranty offered by the dealer. Shortly after we purchased this vehicle we noticed the headlights and interior lights flucuating wildly (as if we were turning off the headlights) along with the voltage. The dealer said this was "normal". it got so bad my husband refused to let me drive the car, even during the day in the event the car shut off. We took the car to another olds dealer who, at our request, replaced the voltage regulator, to no effect. This has happened at least 4 additional times. The dealer says they can find nothing wrong with the car, but the lights continue to flash, and now other electrical problems are surfacing, along with numerous blown fuses and bulbs. It is quite distracting to other drivers on the road, in addition to this cars driver, to have the headlights flash constantly, and does nothing to inspire trust in the safety of this car. I am afraid it will shut off while being driven, or possibly have some sort of electrical fire.

Vehicle lost power while driving and suddenly died. The dealer did not seem to have the knowledge of how to repair the problem or even what was causing it. There was some thought, that it was caused by the anti-device and/or the computerized key.
