My 1999 Plymouth Breeze caught on fire and entire engine was burned down and car destroyed due to engine fire.
- Philadelphia, PA, USA
The contact owns a 1999 Plymouth Breeze. While driving 30 mph, the contact noticed that the vehicle was smoking. He pulled over and shortly afterwards, the vehicle burst into flames. The dealer stated that excessive oil caused the fire. The current and failure mileages were 120,000.

Vehicle was purchased 4/11/02. When I took the car in for its first oil change, I was told the head gasket on the 2.4L engine was leaking and it was recommended I take it to the dealer for a replacement. The dealer informed me the warranty was for 3 years or 36,000 and the best they could do was replace the head gasket for $630. I declined preferring to take it to someone I trust. I have since learned of at least two other people that had to replace their head gaskets at less than 60,000 miles.
