Voyager air bag and speed control. Stockton Dodge service dept. Estimated $225 plus tax to replace a steering wheel "clockspring". I was informed that this is a typical failure on these Chrysler vehicles. Stockton Dodge told me the "clockspring" was not a recall on this 1997 Voyager.

	- St Louis, MN, USA
While driving at highway speeds and trying to pass another vehicle, engine revs, and the accelerator has to be released before the transmission catches up. Dealer has been contacted, says this condition is normal.

	- Ormond Beach, FL, USA
The cruise-control caused the vehicle to accelerate well past the set speed and could usually only be reset by shutting off the engine. The service dept. (mckinney Dodge, easley S.C.) believes the cause to be bent accelerator and speed control cables. If so, the design must be defective as the only work ever done near this area of the engine compartment was replacement of the battery several months ago. Whether the cables were bent during the battery replacement, during manufacture, or somewhere in between, the tight radius of these cables without any protection would seem to be a major design flaw. With the accelerator stuck, stopping the vehicle is difficult (particularly trying to keep the brakes from fading out) and ultimately requires the engine to be shut off.
