The contact owns a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager. The contact stated that the windshield wipers would activate without warning and would not turn off. The dealer has not inspected the vehicle. Dealer has been unable to remedy the problems with the windshield wipers, many component have been replaced (multifunction switch, wiper motor and body control module) but none have been able to fix the problem, the wipers either don't come on or fail while in motion. Nlm

I have had 5 windshield wiper failures since about June 1999 (remember it has not rained much in Maryland this summer so the wipers have not been used much). The condition lasts from 5 to 10 minutes. The wipers will either not start up or will fail during driving. After about the 5 or 10 minutes the wipers return to normal operation and so far have not failed after they start working. This appears to be a random event since I and the dealer have been unable to cause the problem to happen on demand. The dealer has tried to find wiring problems once but was unable to determine the cause. On 31 August the dealer is to replace a module to see if that fixes the problem but I will not know until after it rains again. It is unsettling to have your wiper blades fail while driving and could cause a seriouly dangerous situation if it happens on the highway.
