About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
I have a 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager. There is couple of problems with my air bag light, horn, and cruse. After blinking of air bag light, horn and cruse control are not working. Air bag light is on and off interminttenly.
- College Station, TX, USA
Air bag light stays on, horn doesn't work, cruise control not working also.
- Fawnskin, CA, USA
Air bag light constantly on, horn failed. Clock spring was replaced. I did save the old clock spring and it is available if you want it.
- Norfolk, VA, USA
Airbag light comes on intermittently. Clock spring being replaced today at a cost of $220. Was told there was a recall on previous year Voyager with same problem, but mine is not covered. Looking at the amount of complaints regarding this, and the current open investigation, I believe crysler needs to include this in the recall.
- Manassas, VA, USA
My vehicle has the same issue noted in recall#02V293000 which is the clock spring failure causing the air bag light to remain illuminated, the horn/air bag and cruise control to be unoperable. The Chrysler dealer will not fix under warranty as the recall is for Plymouth Grand Voyager up to model year 1998. I do not understand why the recall does not extend to the 1999 models as the same issue is apparent as reported by several consumers on this site and I'm sure it has not been reported by even more. I consider this a serious safety issue that should be taken seriously by Chrysler and recalled regardless of year/mileage.
- Lawrenceville, GA, USA
The clock spring failed, which caused the airbags to be inoperative. There was a recall issued for the clock spring, but the vehicle was outside of the remedy scope.
- Auburn, KS, USA
1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE - airbag light came on at 72000 miles. I found that daimler-Chrysler had a safety recall on 1996-1998 Plymouth vans because the clockspring was not installed properly in the steering column. Causing the airbag to become inoperable, the horn and cruise control to also stop working. I found on a Plymouth forum that many other 1999 van owners have had the same problems. When I called Chrysler, they said the recall did not cover the 1999 van and that they would not extend the safety recall.

1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager - clockspring here has been a recall on all models from 1996 - 1998 for this problem. Am experiencing the same problem in my 1999 Voyager.
- West Chester, PA, USA
Air bag sensor light comes on and stays on, horn doesn't work. Air bags might not work if vehicle is in a crash.
- Medford, NY, USA
