I have a 2000 Chrysler van that has a broken clock spring. It was repaired under warranty before the mfg warranty expired once already. The Chrysler website says that there is no recall on this item even though it can affect your horn and airbag safety equipment. I would like to see Chrysler repair this defect at no charge.

The vehicle will miss or turn off at random. Both when it is stopped or in motion at speed. The tachometer will fluctuate erratically or simply drop to zero. As of yet there has not been an accident (thanks in part to the alertness of other drivers). The dealer has taken numerous readings and exchanged numerous parts, including plugs and wires, control modules, neutral switch and fuel pump and filter etc. Still has the problem.

The electrical system failed. However, while driving windshield wipers continuously stayed on, but odometer and speedometer were inoperable. Took vehicle to dealer several times. The inside lights will not go off. Dealer stated that there was a defective part which they had installed in the vehicle. The vehicle had to be taken back again.
