Nut fell off the fan blade motor, vehicle taken to dealer; who refused to replace nut unless the whole fan component be replace. Can NHTSA provide any information on this matter.

While driving radiator fan broke without warning, causing vehicle to overheat, and then vehicle stall. This could have caused a crash. Dealer said that consumer needs to replace the radiator fan assembly.
