1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE, headlamp lenses turn opaque when they age until they reach a point where it is dangerous to operate the vehicle at night. I called a dealer and he said they are made of plastic and it is up to the consumer to replace them at a cost of $558 ($279 each). I consider this a safety defect - the lenses should be made out of a material that does not degrade significantly with age.
