A part has been ordered for my car since Oct 2004. At the time the order was placed I was told there were 1500 on back order from Chrysler. Today I was again told there are still 1500 nationally on backorder from Chrysler. I am told by the dealer that this part is part of my exhaust system and that my automobile will unlikely pass state inspection and that the vehicle could also be leaking carbon monoxide. Chrysler/Plymouth has been less than helpful in attaining this part and does not seem concerned that this is causing my auto to leak exhaust and carbon monoxide. I am told they are trying to get a new manufacturer for the part but they have no idea when the part will be available. If there is some other Agency I should contact, please advise. Thank you.

Voyager 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 76,830 miles
Head gasket failure with suspected cracked cylinder head. This vehicle has 77K miles and is now undriveable. The heater does not work now, so I can't defrost the windshield. Estimated repair costs $900-1,500. Mechanics tell me it's cheaper to replace the engine. I can't afford this.
