: the contact stated while driving, there was a noise in the front end. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop and it was determined the driver side strut tower rusted through. The vehicle was then taken to an auto body shop were the strut tower was rewelded. Updated 03/22/06.

Front left strut tower corrosion, it is rusting badly and could fail at high speeds. There was a tsb a few years ago #23-044-02. I believe that because of this defect that affects 1996-2000 mini vans my family is in danger.

Consumer stated that the left front strut housing has rusted and cracked. The consumer felt it was due to salt corrosion. There was a possibility that the right front strut housing will have the same problem. Rupture of metal discovered at inspection at 41,885 miles reported to dealer and Chrysler Corp. Soon after discovery.
