Ignition switch and sensor replaced but unresolved issue of key not turning back to off position. It is random, within 20 minutes the key turns back with no problem. The manual release under the steering wheel worked one time to release the key. After 30 days of this; started randomly keeping the car turned on when the key was OUT of the ignition. Yes, as if the key was in the ignition. In addition, the door locks won't lock because it thinks the key is in the ignition on position. But again it is random. It will work fine for days then start doing this again.

Last week the car just turns on by itself. No, does not start up on its on - just turns on as if the you turned the key to on position.

I need to put out a shout for everyone of my friends to forward. I own a 2005 pontiac aztex, have hade it for 3 yrs... in then 3 yrs the ignitions has failed 4 times..... now they want 1300$ to repair it!!!! I am OUTRAGED since there were 35,000 of these aztecs recalled for same problem. My vin number is not one of then!!! where do they start their recalls. I have exact same trouble as recalls on other aztecs! I am now without a car which means I am out of work because I have to travel for work. I was offered a 50% discount for repairs which is the 1300$. I am still paying for this damn car!!!! I have always depended on pontiacs/ GMC vehicles and now I am stuch with an unusable vehicle in my driveway.

plz forward this to all ur friends that have same vehicle or simular and lets get GMC to act to extend recall!!! this is crazy when it is SAME trouble!!!!

GMC step up to the plate!!!
