Bonneville SLE 3.8L

Transmission started doing rough shifting, felt like was running over a speed bump. I noticed it went away after I had stopped the car and turned off engine. I had it diagnosed at transmission repair shop and they said many GM cars with same transmission have same problem. They said it was solenoid problem but would cost almost as much as doing complete transmission repair ( $1200 to $1800) since the solenoid was inside the transmission box. I decided to wait until I needed a complete transmission repair to have it fixed.

Bonneville SE 3.8L V6

rough shifting, especially when hot...This transmission was rebuilt by the dealer and went out again in the same manner about 30,000 miles later. It required a new transmission the second time (@74,000 miles). On the other hand, my 1989 Bonneville has 167,000 with the original transmission and engine running great.
