Bonneville 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 88,800 miles
The contact owns a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. The contact stated that the rear driver's side window will not go up or down. When he attempts to open it, the window does not move. The window automatically goes down when driving over a bump in the road. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer because the failure previously occurred on the front passenger side window and he was charged $409.41 for the repair. As a result, he will not pay to repair the window again. The failure mileage was 88,800. Updated 10/16/08 updated 10/21/08.

Bonneville 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles
The contact owns a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. The front and rear driver side power windows fell down. The failure occurred when the vehicle drove over a bump at 25 mph and also when the window was being rolled down. The glass did not break. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer, but the contact disconnected the regulator. The aluminum rims corroded on the inside and caused the tires to leak air. The failure mileage was 90,000 and current mileage was 94,540.

Passenger window back left. Window came down while driving. Could not put window back up using the power button. Had to put it up using both hands--one on outside of window--one on inside of window. Window was repaired by local mechanic. He stated that the regulator was bad and this had to be replaced with power window motor/regulator assm. He also said that I should contact General Motors because he didn't feel this should have happened with this young a car. Cost of repair was $375.48 total. This was on my 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. I feel I should be reimbursed this expense.

All electric windows broke in the motor parts causing windows to drop to inside of the door leaving them all the way down without any way of getting them back up. All of them happened within months of each other. Another same car owner had 2 break so far.
