So, I'm driving and i go to turn and my car switches into manual steering! Really confused I pull over turn my car off and try again. 10 minutes down the road i hear a chime and my dash reads POWER STEERING. I go to get a oil change and ask for them to top off my power steering fluid. They tell me my car doesn't require fluid because it is electrical. When I bought the car the dealership said nothing about that, nor did I read it anywhere!

I'm a college student and I don't have hundreds of dollars on hand. The dealership wants to charge me $100 just to tell me what I already know, there is obviously a jam with their electrical power steering units! Ugh this has become a real pain in the ass!

My car was bought brand new, and I cannot believe that it has had so many problems so far. Electronic Power Steering??? What happened to power steering fluid? Everything is electronic now, and I hate it. I called GM and they actually told me that the 07 G5 was a test car for GM, they should let customers know these things BEFORE you buy them, so you can make a good decision.

This problem is a safety hazard, I am tired as hell going through this reoccuring problem every few weeks. I have to put my car in the shop or gone to the car dealership where I purchase my car in the last two months at least 8-10 times. Although, the car gets fixs temporary, this concern is a pain and really agravated. Also, considering the dealerships uses poor quality materials or shall i say cheap parts I am right back at square one. The power steering lights comes on and the power steering goes out repeatedly and the services tech's and services managers tells you to put your life at risk by driving the vehicle to them so they can see that the powering steering is out and then make the decision that the powering steering column has gone out. All though this is what I am telling them over and over again. I guess I should be happy that the concern is being fixed right? Well hell no because, I am paying for extended services to cover concerns like this. I have to put my life in jeopady by driving a vehicle without power steering barely able to turn the wheel and that sucks!!!!!!!!!!! I am mad as hell and I want someone to understand where I am coming from. I don't even want the car no more but I am stuck! Pontiac G5's are a nice little car for a one person but if I could get out of this car I would!
