Couldn't turn my car off after returning home from work. Tried several options, eventually disconnected the electrical connectors feeding the fuse panel. Key wont turn to removal position in ignition allowing key removal. Engine can be restarted and car driven by reconnecting fuse panel and turning key to start the car. Internet forums say many cars have a manual release button accessible thru a 1"square hole in steering column. I removed the plastic shroud around my column but find no button. Unplugging green plastic wiring connector from ignition module will shut off car and eliminate need to disconnect fuse panel. For now I'm unplugging / reconnecting to get back / forth from work. Internet Forums say a solenoid is probably activated locking the ignition, trying to figure out where it is and planning to disable it if possible.

This is an annoying pain in the butt and has yet to be fixed, as of this moment the key needs to be left in the ignition in the first setting from where you would normally be able to turn the car off and remove the key. This is because I had to tap on the key while I was trying to turn it on and turning the key completely off so as to remove the key. This will most likely result in having to go through the same process to start the vehicle if it will work again, as is, the key being in the first position does shut off all electronics but does need to be hidden from view just to keep someone from breaking in and stealing it, that's what sucks beyond belief.
P.S. I did buy a kit to replace the ignition cylinder which means changing all the tumblers so the existing keys would work but the manufacturer did a crappy job of machining the parts so I scrapped that idea so now it's going to a shop to have a new ignition cylinder installed at around 300+ dollars
