This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Pontiac dealer.
This does not seem to be covered by GM, my extended warranty. The oil pan seems as though it is defective or there maybe something that hits the pan while running. I say this as when I had it replaced I choose to purchase a used pan. OMG it had a crack in the same spot which had been repaired with an epoxy(?).

Well, I think I bought a lemon.... I purchased this vehicle and thought I researched my purchase very well. I bought it from what I thought was a reputable dealer etc and spent a good amount of money on the vehicle. I bought every option that I could and purchased the GTP model. I have had nothing but trouble with this vehicle.
The dealership advised me that the engine has an oil leak with which they noticed when installing a block heater. How can a vehicle with 8000kms have an engine oil leak already. The service tech told me 'a seal gave out'. What a fluke? on my car... Be cautious people when purchasing this vehicle. I have a LONG list of problems I have been dealing with. It is still a great car to drive, but be VERY careful, looks can be deceiving.

We got the rear main seal replaced for $1200 and 15 months later the seal went again.
We brought it back to Sherwood Chevrolet in Saskatoon, where we got it fixed in the first place, to get it diagnosed and it was the same problem. Not only did they not want to warranty the work that they had done only 15 months prior, but they wanted to charge the same price for the work. Is it normal for a seal to go twice in such a short time?
