G6 GT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 59,000 miles

While test driving the vehicle before purchase I felt a very noticeable vibration and road noise. I asked the dealership to see if they could correct this. They rotated and balanced the tires. The tires would also loose 5-10 PSI in the course of two days. I was constantly adding air to all four. For one month the vibration did not exist and it was an exceptionally smooth ride. Then seemingly one day the vibration was back. I took my vehicle to an independant shop and they balanced the tires again. Ride was smooth for about a month and vibration came back. I took the car in and had all four tires replaced. The road vibration and the loosing air issue has never been resolved. Tire balancing helps with the vibration but it always returns shortly after.

the car shakes so badw when accelerating beyond 70 mph making it very scary when driving on the highway. it fells like your tires are going to fall off! have spent over $500 replacing several different parts from tires to break pads thinking it was the problem , only to find out its faulty steering!! we need a RECALL!!! GM needs to own up to this and stop disrespecting those of us who have given them so much business!

G6 GT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,500 miles

There was a vibration which would occur while cruising at speeds around 30-50 MPHs. The dealer found a worn tie rod end and replaced it under my CPO warranty. I have heard this complaint from other G6 owners before also.

G6 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

I bought this Pontiac G6 in January 2007. Within six months I had it in the GM service dept. getting the rotors replaced. Another six months went by and yet again, I am back at GM service getting the same thing, rotors, replaced. At this point, I explained to them that this is not normal and it needs to be checked into to find out why this is happening. They would never listen to me, and only fixed the obvoious. When the warranty ran out, I was stuck replacing the rotars every 6 to 8 months, I had the hub assembly replaced, both front tie rods, my air compressor locked up.....replaced that, and replaced brake pads a couple of times plus replaced tires twice. I keep up the maintenance on this vehicle and have the tires rotated every other oil change. There is no reason for all of these problems to be happening, and me having to pay out of pocket to have them replaced.
