We bought this convertible Pontiac 2007 G6 almost a year ago & had trouble with the top not working. It has been worked on 5 times since we've had it & right now still not working. If you try to put it down it will get stuck in mid-air & may set there for 12 hours before it goes down & it will say top is not secure so you can't drive it like that. Place where we got it had it about 2 months ago & said they're waiting for a part that is ordered but we talked to the Pontiac dealership this morning & they said that part is no longer being made & they told the guy we the car from if he could find the part & they start fixing it & something else is wrong they wouldn't be able to fix this car. So basically we have been paying for the car for 1 year now - haven't been able to use the top - my husband has missed work because the top was suppose to be fixed he'd try to put it down & it gets stuck in mid-air & you can't put it down when it does that it sets for about 12 hours before it will close on it's own. We can't drive it when is says top is not secure because it may blow off & then sometimes the trunk gets stuck & you can't open that and get anything our of it. I am just at a loss here we're paying for something that is not safe to drive & if you do luck out and get the top down after it's been worked on you just have to pray that it goes back up securely. And how can they stop making a part for a car that is only a 2007 & convertible top. We are just frustrated with this whole situation and still have to finish paying for this car or it goes against us. We are at a loss for what to do about this.

My Pontiac G6 has had an exterior lighting issue since August of 2012. Pontiac will not help me fix this. The brake lights do not work when you press the pedal and turn on without the pedal being pressed. My cruise control no longer works period. A GM technician looked at my car and could not find anything that he could do to fix it. When he used the tech 2 tool, he would try and turn one tail light on and the opposite would turn on instead. Pontiac will not even look at my car at any dealer for free. They want me to pay and maybe get reimbursed for it. I have many issues with my car but this is the worst. My panoramic sun roof leaks and makes a ton of noise while I drive. The sun shade fell off on it as well.

I financed this used car in 2010 at 27,000 miles. Since I have had this car I have not had the chance to really enjoy it because I am constantly fixing on it. I ave had a lot of problems. I have replaced brakes 2X once with rotors and they are goin out again including rotors. I am constantly replacing tires. My steering wheel pops when turning and I have had this fixed once. Traction gone. Had heat/air on and smoke smelling like a firecracker came from passenger dashboard. My biggest problem right now is that I had the whole suspension system replaced and now I am constantly replacing the lugs on my front left tire because the constantly pop off. Brake lights and headlights constantly goes out. Air bag, engine, and traction light goes on and off (sometimes staying on). Power in driver door gone out for windows resulting in 3 windows unable to roll up/down but will work when wants. Only one will go down using its own panel. Replaced a crack in lca. Remote starter gone out. Car wheel shakes occasionally. Interior lights doesn't work except front dashboard but minus where gear shaft at (went out after smoke from dashboard). Needs struts to be replaced. Also jerks with a huge pop that you can feel when putting car in gear. When accelerating you can feel it shift gears. I am currently only at about 83000 miles. Nothing but trouble. Scared serious accident may happen because of the lugs constantly poppin off. We don't know why. I called Pontiac and GM and no recalls on this car except power-train and warranty for trans and none of this was covered by warranty or them period. Tired of this car so tired!! GM and Pontiac need to do something this is terrible to only be a 2007.

Steering is popping and acts like it wants to lock up. Called dealer they said nothing was wrong with it. Called GM they took note. I've had it in the shop for the same problem 3 different times within a yr they repositioned and lubed the I-shaft. Never fixed the problem. My drivers side front area there is a popping noise when its cold. That also was looked at 3 times. I was told there were no problems. It still makes the noise. Actually its getting louder. I was told by GM to take it in and have it diagnosed. I have under 50,000 with no warranty. They want me to pay for something that was supposed to be fixed. And have someone look at something they say doesn't exist. The popping in the steering and left front is still occurring every day but is worse when its cold.

I own a 2007 Pontiac G6 gtp. I received a letter from Pontiac that there was a recall on the sunroof drain hoses. I brought my car in for the correction. About 1.5 years later after my vehicle is out of standard warranty I find that they are now leaking into my passenger side seatbelt area in between the body of the car and the interior panel. The dealership expects me to pay for this since they say they conducted the repair.

The sun roof of this vehicle creates so much wind noise when you exceed the speed of 40mph or more that it will give you a headache. I have address this problem with the dealer (wade raulerson Pontiac, Buick and GMC, gainesville, Florida) at least three times. Each time there is no improvement in the problems of reducing the wind noise. Please let me emphasize that I am not the type who gets headaches. To me this is a safety issue which needs to be addressed.

2007 Pontiac G6 fishtailed while driving on dry roads. Consumer states that the vehicle fishtailed when she braked and tried to move right to avoid an accident. She stated that she sold the vehicle back to the dealer. The dealer stated a combination of the suspension, struts, weight distribution, and swept up design resulted in the vehicle dipping down when the brakes were applied, which lifted the rear and locked the brakes.

Vehicle leak on both driver and passenger side of vehicle. After car is rained on or washed, when the seatbelts are used, they are wet with a large amount of moisture. This has been reported 2 times to the local dealership where it was purchased and they have not responded to schedule an appointment.
