Brake lights stay on while pressing gas...when pressing brake they shut off. When this problem is occurring you have to press real hard to get out of park to drive. This is a serious issue which where the brake lights doesn't warn other drivers when stopping which could lead to a crash. There hasn't been any accidents reported yet what I have read but I do believe this issue needs to be resolved before you do have a accident. I would hate to see this not get recalled and kill someone over a simple fix.

I bought the car in November 2009. I first noticed it 2 weeks after I purchased. The cruise would always turn off randomly. I noticed then that the brake lights would randomly come on. Now they are pretty much on all the time even when the car is in park. They don't turn off unless car is off. The air bag light will come on and say its on when there is no one in the passenger seat. And sometimes when a passenger is in the seat it will be off. Also with this the seatbelt alarm will ding and ding until I buckle in my invisible person. It isn't all the time but it worries me because having a faulty air bag is not cool. I've contacted GM because I saw that these things were on recall but they told me that my VIN isn't recalled even though its the exact same issue. Is there any way you can help?

I noticed that my brake lights will stay on when the brakes are not engaged and when I press down on the brake pedal the brake lights turn off. Once I depress the pedal the brake lights will go on again. This will happen on random occasions, sometimes the brake lights work fine and then sometimes they malfunction. I have also noticed that sometimes the cruise control will not engage while other times it will. There have been two occasions where the cruise control disengaged while traveling on the highway.

My Pontiac G6 has had an exterior lighting issue since August of 2012. Pontiac will not help me fix this. The brake lights do not work when you press the pedal and turn on without the pedal being pressed. My cruise control no longer works period. A GM technician looked at my car and could not find anything that he could do to fix it. When he used the tech 2 tool, he would try and turn one tail light on and the opposite would turn on instead. Pontiac will not even look at my car at any dealer for free. They want me to pay and maybe get reimbursed for it. I have many issues with my car but this is the worst. My panoramic sun roof leaks and makes a ton of noise while I drive. The sun shade fell off on it as well.

Brakes, and brake rotors have been replaced numerous times. Too many electrical malfunctions to mention. Today, my wife said her power steering light came on. It scares me that she has to drive my son to school in this car. I have researched this vehicle, and found numerous safety issues with other owners as well. I have contacted the different dealers for help, to no avail. Why isn't there a recall yet?

When I push the gas my vehicles brake lights are illuminated. When I push on the brakes the lights go off. I do not have any brake lights and have almost gotten into multiple accidents due to this issue.this is a huge saftey concern. I have contacted the dealership and GM, both tell me to bring it in and that I would have to pay for any and all repairs. I have done a lot of research and noticed that there is a recall for issues similiar to this, my vehicle does not fit into the recall. I have done all work that the recall suggests and it only helps for a couple of days.

Brake lights don't illuminate when applying the brake. Also they illuminate when in park or when pressing the gas. We just bought the car on Saturday (9/15/12) and my husband noticed that the brake lights were on the entire time I was driving on the highway. So when we got home, I called the dealership. They told me to bring the car in. We picked it up again on Monday night and they said it was fine. Tues, I was stopping at a light and the car behind me skidded to a stop but swerved away from hitting me. The next day I made my husband check the lights, and again the same issue was happening. I emailed the dealership and they said to bring the car in again. So I did and the service guy said there is a problem with this in many G6's. he replaced some brake switch or something and did what was recommended by Pontiac but said he wants to keep it overnight and see if it happens again tomorrow. I'm very concerned B/C I have 3 young children who are in the car with me and I'm afraid to drive the car B/C if the brake lights don't illuminate, I will definitely get hit. There is no recall that I can find re: This issue and it looks like there is no fix. I haven't even owned the car a week and I drove it for three days. The shop has had it for 4 days.

I financed this used car in 2010 at 27,000 miles. Since I have had this car I have not had the chance to really enjoy it because I am constantly fixing on it. I ave had a lot of problems. I have replaced brakes 2X once with rotors and they are goin out again including rotors. I am constantly replacing tires. My steering wheel pops when turning and I have had this fixed once. Traction gone. Had heat/air on and smoke smelling like a firecracker came from passenger dashboard. My biggest problem right now is that I had the whole suspension system replaced and now I am constantly replacing the lugs on my front left tire because the constantly pop off. Brake lights and headlights constantly goes out. Air bag, engine, and traction light goes on and off (sometimes staying on). Power in driver door gone out for windows resulting in 3 windows unable to roll up/down but will work when wants. Only one will go down using its own panel. Replaced a crack in lca. Remote starter gone out. Car wheel shakes occasionally. Interior lights doesn't work except front dashboard but minus where gear shaft at (went out after smoke from dashboard). Needs struts to be replaced. Also jerks with a huge pop that you can feel when putting car in gear. When accelerating you can feel it shift gears. I am currently only at about 83000 miles. Nothing but trouble. Scared serious accident may happen because of the lugs constantly poppin off. We don't know why. I called Pontiac and GM and no recalls on this car except power-train and warranty for trans and none of this was covered by warranty or them period. Tired of this car so tired!! GM and Pontiac need to do something this is terrible to only be a 2007.

On multiple occasions the brake lights will illuminate when the brake is not being depressed, when this happens, the cruise control will disengage. If I then apply the brakes, the brake lights will go off and stay off, even if I come to a complete stop. Also, while in motion, if this problem happens, I can tap the brakes and the lights will go off....I can then set the cruise control again, and it will work for a few seconds until the brake lights come on again. Other motorists have told me my brake lights stay on while I'm in motion, and go off when I stop. This is a big safety concern, and someone's going to be injured. GM recalled 2005-2006 models for this same issue, but didn't extend it to 2007 models. However, I've read numerous accounts of this issue happening in 2007 models. Can't something please be done before someone is hurt? I'm bringing it in as I'm afraid to keep driving it this way, and will have to pay to have them fix it, but I've heard the fix is only temporary, and I'll have to bring it back many times.

On the above date and time I was driving and a police officer pulled me over and told me that my brakes were coming on when I was driving but when I was stopping they went off I have brought it into the dealer to be fixed several times and they are not fixing it they are calibrating the brakes and putting a bandaid on it lasts for about 3 weeks then right back to the way it was I have called Pontiac and they just keep telling us to bring it in I went online and there have been numerous complaints on this car I understand they are from 2005-07 that the issues are occurring according to the information I read on the problem. Here is the NHTSA action number for you to reference with PE08054. They have recalled the 05's but the problem still exists in their later models. It has not been recalled and believe this issue should be addressed they know its a malfunction and they should be responsible instead of nickeling and dimming their customers just to not get the problem solved. Do we really have to wait till someone gets killed in order to address the problem? I appreciate your time [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

On highway traveling out of town averaging 60-65 in my 2007 Pontiac G6 I lightly pressed brakes approaching an exit for gas when a the steering wheel started shaking. I had to press the brakes again to stop after exiting the highway to stop. The shaking was noticeably worse. I purchased the car used about 2 months before this event so I did not expect any brake issues. After several months my wife mentioned a noise from the brakes. I had the brakes inspected and the service person said the brakes were fine but my front and rear struts were bad. I asked him if this would cause the steering wheel to shake when breaking at highway speeds and he said yes. I took the car back to the dealership of purchase and they did a brake inspection even though I asked to have the struts looked at and stated that rotors were warped. After this I searched for problems with the steering on the model and year of my car. I found thousands of customer complaints of all the symptoms and issues I was having. I did find a service bulletin about the intermediate shaft in the steering.technical bulletin no.: 06-02-32-007G date: April 05, 2010 subject: Clunk, knock or rattle noise from front of vehicle while driving or turning over bumps at low speeds (diagnose noise and perform outlined repair) models: 2004-2006 Chevrolet Malibu maxx 2004-2008 Chevrolet Malibu classic 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu 2005-2010 Pontiac G6 2007-2010 Saturn aura supercede: This bulletin is being revised to update the parts information for the bolt. Please discard corporate bulletin number 06-02-32-007F (section 02 - steering. At this point I believe a recall should be issued on the entire front suspension including the factory rotors which warp within 2K-3K miles. Re-surfacing these rotors increases the braking problem. And a non-metallic ceramic brake pad should be installed by a GM certified service department.
