Had the headlight on the passenger side go out rather frequently. After investigation, I found the harness melted. So I replaced harness not once, not twice, but three f*cking times. Still melting. Finally I said f*ck it and soldered the wires to the bulb and haven't had a problem since.

This has happened 2 times already, where I've replaced the passenger low light bulb and now I have to do it again. During this I've noticed that the wires are melting that lead to the connector. Is there a recall on this? I can't keep replacing the bulbs as this can become costly.

I have deadlines to meet on projects at work so I got up at 4:00am in order to get to the office early. Needless to say it is still dark outside, when I get in my car to leave and both headlights are out. I have already replaced them both 3 times in the last year. It's been one or the other but not both at the same time. I am extremely frustrated about this issue!

Passenger side headlight burned out repeatedly, just as the driver's side did a year ago. Upon investigation, the bulb was still good but the wiring harness had melted (see pictures). The Dealer said that other wiring had also melted, implying that this is a serious fire hazard.
The service tech at the dealer ship said that it's "just something that happens over time." REALLY?? I have owned many cars in my 59 years and this has never happened on a another vehicle.. It's happened to me 2 times on the same vehicle, now. After reading the number of other similar complaints, it sounds like a latent defect that needs to be listed as a recall and corrected.

My low beam headlight on the driver's side had to be replaced frequently. Generally after only a month or so. While replacing one time I tested the lamp to see if it would work by reseating it in the socket. The lamp still worked. I attempted to get it to seat more securely but it would always fail a few weeks later. Eventually, the harness showed signs of overheating and slight melting. The dealer replaced the harness and socket for $200+.

Dealer replaced headlight socket out of warranty. Stock h11 bulb had melted the socket and connector

2nd time driver h11 socket melted in G6. Dealer recommended replacing entire headlight assembly, which I did.

Driver Headlight socket melts repeatedly. Now replacing sockets with $8 car parts store part, which melts as frequently as the $40 OEM part.

I bought the highest brand headlights I could for my car, which were about $80 for both, only to have them randomly blow after 4 months. I replaced the low beam fuses and replaced the bulbs with some low end basics, only to have them blow AGAIN in a month. Now I have no headlights in my car and I don't know how to fix the issue! I was told there was a recall for it but all I can find is brake light recalls! Can we solve this issue and not have you charge us up the ass because of your mistakes!

The headlight kept blowing. I kept replacing the bulb…but eventually had to replace the entire headlight assembly because the connector was actually melted.

Well my headlight went out and I bought a new bulb it lasted about 3wks then I bought another one it lasted 1 month and then decided to do some investigation. Saw that the wire and connecter were frazzled and decided to replace the terminal. Couldn't find one anywhere else but the dealership. So they raped me with no lube and charged me 50.00 for the piece. ( a universal one at another place is only $8.00, but unfortunately they are no good on these cars) Put the piece on and it works now. I had to do this to both headlights!!!! I will never buy another GM again!!!

Replaced DR side headlight back in July and now about a month later I am having to replace the same head light again!!!

This is the third time since May that this has happened. It's a royal PAIN to do this ... can't understand why the bulbs are only lasting a short period before burning out.

I've been changing my headlights so much I'm too used to it!! One night they both went out!! I'm scared of getting into an accident. Most headlights are brighter and when one of mine is out it's very hard to see when there's oncoming vehicles. I'm sick and tired of this. I've been pulled over by cops for this quite a few times. I can't wait to get rid of this pos
