There actually was a recall on this problem with the gear shift assembly which I took in less than 13 months ago...25 days past a year. Now they do not honor any repair to it as it has gone over the one year warranty mark on their recall work. I went to park the car and it doesn't even acknowledge the different gears. It is like it is totally in neutral but the car keeps rolling. I had to use my emergency brake. It won't start because it is not recognizing the gear as if it is in park. I am hoping that it is the gear shift assembly however the really crudy part of the deal is that this is an item of recall and 25 days with only 1 year of driving on it, this happens. I am lucky I was pulling in to park and not driving down the road.
