The contact owns a 2008 Pontiac G6 equipped with achilles all-season tires, size: P225/50R17 (na). The contact stated that the steering was faulty and the tire traction was worn out. While driving at an unknown speed, the front driver side tire had a blow out and the steering wheel made an abnormal humming noise. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact also mentioned that the tread was worn out on three of the tires. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced all the tires and aligned the wheels. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and an appointment was scheduled to have the vehicle repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 14V252000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system, exterior lighting, vehicle speed control, electronic stability control). The dealer was not contacted. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 162,634. The dot number and VIN were not available.
