The contact owns a 2009 Pontiac G6. After starting the vehicle and turning on the heated leather seats after 5 minutes, a burning odor was present. The front driver seat was extremely hot to the touch and became discolored. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 78,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Pontiac G6. The contact was driving 55 mph with the heated seat activated when it began to burn the contact abnormally. The contact turned off both the heated seat and the vehicle. The contact then noticed that the leather seat was burned severely. The vehicle was restarted and the heated seat began to cool after a long period of time. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the contact was advised that their was a short in the electrical seat and caused the seat to burn. The contact stated the seat could have caught on fire while he was driving, causing serious injury. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 52,000.
