My 2009 1/2 Pontiac G6 was never in an accident, or mistreated. It is a good car, runs fine. It was a good looking car. Then one day my son noticed that there were bubbles in the paint on the passenger side panel. The entire panel looks like there is sand under the paint, has bubbles, and now an area 12 by 18 inches has peeled off. After taking the car to a Chevrolet dealership and speaking with the body shop, I was told it would cost $800 to paint the panel. Then I called General Motors, spoke with a "specialist" who just sent everything back to the dealership. The dealership called me back and offered a "Goodwill Offer" which would cover all but $450 of the cost to repaint the panel. This is not acceptable. It is General Motors fault and they should fix it at no cost! There have been a lot of paint problems with General Motors cars manufactured in years close to mine. I also have a 2002 Ford Explorer with paint which looks new! Why can Ford paint cars and GM can't? GM needs to step up and fix these paint problems at no cost. If it were a safety issue then it would get a lot of attention, I feel like putting a sign on the side of my car which says "General Motors won't fix this!"
