While driving at 45-mph the underhood latch failed. The hood opened up breaking the windshield and injuring the driver's face and arms. Dealer notified.

While driving 45 mph hood popped open. Consumer was able to pull over to the shoulder. Then, had the vehicle towed. To dealer. The hood hit the front windshield damaging it and injuring the consumer. Consumer closed the hood until it locked. While driving to the dealership, the hood unlatched again the hit the windshield. Mechanic informed the consumer that this kind of incident happens all the time with Pontiac Grand Am's.
