Vehicle started to overheat; battery had to be replaced 3 times and alternater twice, and 1 starter and wiring replaced. Consumer states a faulty switch caused the electrical failures.

While driving interior of vehicle caught on fire, dashboard and instrument panel were burned. Consumer was traveling about 30 mph, smelled smoke, and then saw smoke. Contacted dealer, and dealer noted that it had to do with electrical wiring system.

Consumer had replaced fuel pump three times due to an electrical short in wire. Wires had to be replaced. Also, starter had to be replaced twice due to a voltage regulator.

Gettting into the vehicle to start it up and smelled smoke. Tried to start again, and vehicle wouldn't start. Went into the house, came back out, and vehicle was on fire. Fireman came out to put the fire out. Insurance determine it was a electrical fire from the steering column.

Vehicle had been parked. It caught fire without any warning. Fired deparment arrived & put flames out. Indicated to owner of vehicle that it was an electrical fire coming from the steering column.

Vehicle parked. Started vehicle & no sound or noise. Would not crank up. Lifted hood & went to start vehicle again. Started to smell smoke which was coming from the steering wheel. The vehicle was on fire. Fire department arrived & put flames out. Vehicle towed to dealer. Location of fire not determined by fire department or GM inspector.
