One day the gas gauge just stopped reading after it hit a quarter tank. It will still read accurate until that point, then the needle will bounce back & forth between empty & full. I am getting pretty good at estimating the number of miles I can safely get out of a tank of gas, but I have run out a couple of times. I've been told it costs in excess of $1000 to drop the tank and replace the sensor. Cheaper to just carry a gallon of gas extra....
