Driver side mirror fell off while we where on a road trip. It was still hanging by the wires but the screw brackets cracked.

Both of the outside rearview mirrors on my 2000 Grand Am have become unattached from the doors. I have done what I could with epoxy and tape to repair the mirrors but they look terrible. The cost of dealer repair is unacceptable.

Yesterday my driver side mirror broke off after going through a car wash. Ten months ago my passenger side mirror did the same thing at a different car wash. Is there a recall? maybe a metal frame would be more better than a plastic one. I am shocked to see this again, since my Pontiac grandam is only 3 yrs old. I have pants that last longer than these mirrors!
