It is my belief that this vehicle may also have had a ignition switch problem like later models. I believe that looking into these faulty ignition switches in earlier models should be investigated. For the last 3.5 years I have just explained my daughters accident as just an automobile accident, but after seeing some of the crash scene photos from a newer vehicle accidents they seem too familiar to what my daughters accident looked like. The airbags were never deployed, the ABS brakes did not work, the skid marks showed no sign of braking only sliding. If you investigate fatality accidents with earlier model GM cars the death toll will most likely be greater than the 13 that GM is currently admitting to. Please investigate older model cars so that people who have lost loved ones can have real closure and not just speculation.

The problem that I am having with my vehicle is that the security light comes on when trying to start the vehicle and will not let me start it. I have two children and am pregnant and was stranded in the middle of a storm because of this problem. After the light comes on, I usually have to wait for 30min.- 1 hr. Before it will go off and the vehicle will start. This problem has happened 7 times now in the past 6 months. I have complained several times to the service dealer, and they keep giving me the run around and say nothing is wrong and can't find anything. If nothing is wrong, why does it keep happening?? a friend of mine has the same vehicle and is having the same problem. I think this needs to be looked into and something needs to be done about this! I have children and cannot afford to get stranded.

Heard loud noise coming from front part tires while driving. I knew it wasn't the brakes. Took it to my regular mechanic and was told it was a bad wheel bearing. $400 later it was replaced. This is not my first problem with this car. 1st problem: Blower motor went, 2nd: Water pump went, 3rd: Was told ignition column needs to be replaced, 4th: Shoe over timing belt wore away because of water pump problem. There have been numerous other problems including replacement of the brakes. My car only has 53,000 miles on it and was bought brand new in June of 2000. For the money I have spent on it, I could've had a Lexus!

Trouble starting vehicle due to problems with the security system. Consumer went to three different dealerships to have it fixed but was told that the problem was a defect with the vehicle. Consumer finally able to find a dealer to fix the problem. The ignition cylinder was replaced which solved the problem. Consumer now asking if the problem is a defect with these vehicles, will the consumer be reimbursed for the replacement of the ignition cylinder.

I have bumped the key in the ingition 3 times with my right knee since I have had the car and it shut the car off while driving or stading at a stop light... I am almost 6 foot tall and my seat was adjusted properly. This really caught me by suprise the first time it happend.. I was getting adjusted in my seat at a stop light and my knee must have bumped the key and the car shut off... this happend 2 other times while driving.... I think this could be a very seroius problem. All 3 times I shifted into N and was able to restart the car of coarse the brakes and stering were not power assisted... I had no other keys on my car key ring except the key less remote which would be standard to have on my key for the car.
