Grand Am 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,000 miles
Kumo tires, 225/50R16, dot#Y0F8ya3F4903. The consumer was driving at approximately 50 mph when the right front tire blew out. The tire had only 13,000 miles on it when the tire sidewall blew out. The consumer took the vehicle back to the tire distributor where it was noticed that the other 3 tires had excessive wear. Also, the consumer had to replace all four tires which had only 15,334 miles. All of the tires had 3 rotations, yet the tires just wore out prematurely. The cause of the premature wear was undetermined.

I have after market rims with sumitomo htr+ 225/40zr18 tires. On my way traveling to California from Louisiana my rear tire blew out causing my rim to crack and it also scrached up the lower right half of my car, it cost me $600 to replace the rim and tire and now I have a bubble forming in my front driver side tire I think that the company who makes this tire should refund me the money I spent to replace the rim and tire, fix the damage to my car, and also give me a replacement for the one with the bubble. Something needs to be done because im not the only one this has happened to my frind has the same exact tires and his did the same thing only he was at a stop light when it happened.these tires are not cheap and I still have to repaire the body damage. Thank you from a concered soldier of the army.

I own a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT, and I am completely frustrated with the lack of response to all of the Grand Am's problems. There is a grinding/rubbing noise coming from the front of car. I was told it needed new rotors and pads....well I have done that twice now within the last 4 months, and still the noise is there. Then I was told it was the transmission....replaced that and the noise is still there. Now I have found out by all of the other hundreds of complaints on this car that the noise is more than likely faulty Goodyear tires. When I called local Pontiac dealer they told me that there was nothing that could do without charge because of no recall on the tires. I am to my boiling point with this car and something has got to be done by Pontiac.

The tires are very weak and are not very "durable." From the experience I've had, I don't feel safe with the tires and wheels on my car. Every time I'm driving somewhere and encounter everyday road conditions, I'm scared to find a flat, popped tire; or blowout. I've had the exterior black lining fixed 2 times and I'm not happy it is happening again! the rear windshield weather strip is separating. The lower body mold is comiing off the body around the entire vehicle. A suspension cover part doesn't fit, has been to dave cross service dept. Where car spent 4 days and said to be repaired, I got my car back and it was worse than when it went there. Whoever has replaced the front bumper is a complete moron! it isn't lined up with the proper things! the driver side is lower than the passenger side. The car sounds like it is going to fall apart on a perfect road! a lot of money has been put into this vehicle and it's very upsetting when it is taken to get fixed, pay for that, get it back, it's still not right, take it back again, pay, recieve rude customer service, then it's a half-a** job! there's so many things to comment about, but those are the top subjects with my car. Hopefully, I will be taken seriously for once. Thank you for your time, it is appreciated.
