problem #1

Feb 242004

Grand Am 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 41,000 miles
While under warrenty, rear struts were replaced. 6 months later, suspension noise was heard again, however now from the front end. At approximately 41,000 miles (Nov 2003) Pontiac dealer stated that the noise was "normal" for this car and the struts however there was no safety issue or mechanical damage. Seems to me that if there was no mechanical damage to the strut, then the frontend suspension should not sound like a baby's rattle. Now with approximately 45,000 the noise is worse and the steering column has occassional "jitters" under moderate to hard braking conditions. Vechicle seems to be developing several problems less then 6 months after warrenty expired.
