Sometimes you have to turn the ignition key several times before the auto will start. Sometimes just once. Mechanic can not find out what's wrong. Diagnostics shows nothing. Annoying.

So my "Service Engine" light came on and my car started getting tough to start sometimes, especially first thing in the morning when it had been sitting awhile. Then one morning it the engine turned over but wouldn't start. This wasn't my old red flashing "Security" light (anti-theft passlock) system problem resurfacing, and after a couple more tries I took a taxi to work. After work I checked the fuel pressure with key on, engine off at the access port in the engine compartment (2.2 L Ecotech.) My gauge read 0 psi, and there was no initial humming noise coming from the fuel pump. I checked the fuel pump fuse and relay, but they were fine. So I bought a truck to use for a while and put the car up on jackstands in the parking lot and pulled the fuel tank out and took it to work with me and removed the fuel pump from the tank and siphoned the gas out of the tank and fed it to my truck later. Some weeks later, when my landlord began looking at me strangely, I bought a new fuel pump from Napa, gummed up a small pinhole in the fuel tank with some Permatex, installed the fuel pump in the tank, and put the tank back onto the car, replacing the fuel filter along the way just because. I filled the tank back up, and the car started right up. So I took the car down off the jackstands and put the jackstands back on my balcony and my landlord seemed happy and I was happy too. However, I think I'll cut an access panel in the trunk of the car so I can access the fuel pump and related wiring harnesses without having to remove the whole fuel tank, like the Oldsmobile Intrigues have.

My car wouldn't start, & I had noticed the security light coming on while driving. Had it towed and they said it was the ignition cylinder that cost $500. This really sucks! I hate this car!!

When I get in my car usually have to turn the key multiple times, sometimes I have to take the key out turn around, then put it back in to try to start the car. After all the third time it'll work but then I'll have to try to turn it back off because it won't start all the way up and then start all over again. It's very irritating.
